The Problem With Portable Bottle Warmers
For parents whose babies prefer a warm bottle, you might be in for a surprise when you’re on-the-go. There aren’t many options when it comes to portable bottle warmers and to make matters worse, the options that exist are slow.
Portable Bottle Warmers - Typical Issues
For me, this journey started several years ago when I forgot to bring the bottle warmer on the family vacation. Back then, portable bottle warmers didn’t exist. In the middle of the night my 9-month-old was going to make sure I understood the severity of this situation. The hot water from the sink wasn’t going to cut it, so I had to rely on the in-room Keurig machine. 3 Keurig warming cycles later, which took about 10 minutes, I finally had enough hot water that I could set her bottle in to warm her formula.
Why do we have cars that can drive themselves, but we don’t have a quick and safe option to warm breast milk and formula at the park or on vacation?
Also, why are bottle warmers designed for one thing and one thing only (warming bottles)? I know this might not sound that crazy, but why can’t we have a warmer that grows with the baby. Some toddlers like warm puréed food and almost every child I know likes hot chocolate. And what about us parents, don’t we want hot coffee on-the-go? Why can’t we have a warming device that takes care of the entire family? I can’t stand spending $100 on a baby product that becomes useless 9 months later.
The Solution
After years of development, we created an incredible product (I may or may not be a bit biased). Our goal was to develop a device that could safely warm breast milk and formula on-the-go in as little as 2 minutes. The icing on the cake is that the device can also warm almost any liquid such as hot chocolate, apple cider, tea and coffee.
If you are wondering why it took years to develop our product, it’s because we wanted to make sure we fully understood the problem and we also wanted to create the safest device on the market. It didn’t help that we were in the middle of a pandemic and the chip shortage made it nearly impossible to build anything quickly (or at a reasonable cost).
If you are interested in learning about how we designed the Keddle, I’ll be writing a blog on our design process so stay tuned. The Keddle make look simple from the outside, but don’t let this fool you. We put a lot of thought into safety, performance, and convenience.
Our Vision
Without spilling the beans, we want everyone to know that we have a full portfolio of amazing problem-solving products in our pipeline that will be releasing over the next several years. Although our kids have grown into some amazing little humans, we have had some struggles when it comes to feeding our children. We want to help parents by making the feeding process a little bit easier.
